Visiting with Annie Smith, The Podcast Queen

I had the most exciting experience last week. Podcast Queen, Annie Smith, was doing a cross country trip and she sent out a message that she was looking to meet some of her listeners. I just so happen to read her blog and noticed that she was coming through San Antonio, TX. I emailed her and told her I would love to show her my local quilt shop, Creative Sewing Center that is located right up the street from me. I also told Annie that we can play tourist downtown and see the Alamo and the Riverwalk.

We had so much fun talking about everything quilting. She also opened my eyes to looking at my town with "tourist" eyes. So many things she pointed out to me I never bothered to noticed them. I made a promise to myself that I will go back downtown and take the time to enjoy the sights.

Annie told me she loves BBQ so we went to County Line BBQ on the Riverwalk. I wanted her to taste the Smoked Turkey. Annie couldn't believe how moist the meat was. After dinner, we headed off to my quilt shop owner, Dixie from Seven Heaven. Dixie's store is so cute and she has rows and rows of fabric!
Later that night Annie interviewed me for her podcast, Quilting Stash. She should have this up on her website as soon as she returns from her trip. I was thankful that she arrived at her destination safe and sound. Way to go for women power!

Quilter's Home Magazine

Life has been spinning by very fast for me lately. If you have visited my website, you would see that I appeared in Quilter's Home Magazine. The article focused on inspirational journals and how we as quilters use them in designing patterns. I just so happen to visit my local Jo-Ann's and decided to pick up the latest issue Jan/Feb issue of Quilter's Home. I remembered sending my journal into Mark but I had no idea when or if my journal would appear in the magazine. It just so happened that I had my youngest daughter with me and my mom. Words can not explain seeing your name in print! My mom, daughter and I started jumping around in the store with people looking at us strangely. Oh well, I always say when my "album drops" they'll be sorry they treated me that way! LOL
